A City Seen: Memories from Syria

We had a fruitful film screening, poetry performance and panel discussion at HOME Manchester on Monday 29 April 2019. The film screening MemoriesfromSyria showed excerpts of the stories of Syrians in the UK who shared, in their own words, some of the experiences that they underwent either throughout the conflict in Syria, through their journeys to reach safety in Europe and through rebuilding their lives in the UK.

RR attends the APPG launch of the inquiry into a working definition of Islamophobia

Rethink Rebuild Society attended The APPG on British Muslims roadshow launch of the inquiry into a working definition of Islamophobia on Sunday, 14 April 2019. The event was hosted by Afzal Khan MP, the vice-chair of the APPG. In his talk, Afzal Khan urged local authorities to adopt the APPG definition as part of their effort to counter Islamophobia in all its forms.

"Silenced Voices" Exhibition at Lancaster Priory Church

The exhibition “Silenced voices: Syrian women in Assad’s prisons” organised by Rethink Rebuild Society was hosted by Lancaster Priory Church on Saturday, 23rd of March. The exhibition also included a short talk by a former detainee, Aminah Khoulani, and a film screening “Silent War” by Manon Louizeau.
