As part of the University of Chester's Diversity Festival 2019, RR Manager Dr. Haytham Alhamwi delivered a talk about the Syrian refugees on Monday 11 March. The talk was part of a Social and Political Studies Developing Multicultural Competence module but it was open to all staff, students and visitors to attend.

We attended a seminar at the British Muslim Heritage Centre on 24 February that outlined coming changes to the Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) courses that will be implemented in primary and secondary schools.
We participated in celebrating International Mother Language Day on Thursday 21 February 2019 at Longsight Library & Learning Centre in Manchester. Visitors had the opportunity to get involved in exciting events including Arabic calligraphy, hands-on and crafts activities and family-friendly-games.

Our women’s group of over 50 went on a day trip to Orsdall Hall Salford on the 21st of February 2019.
The group enjoyed a great day out and learned about the history of this former manor house in the historic parish of Ordsall, which dates back more than 750 years.
