We attended an event with Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry on 21 April hosted by Afzal Khan's campaign for MP for Gorton. In the Q&A session, we asked Emily whether Labour would continue to support aid drops on besieged areas as it called for on 13 December 2016 in the context of the East Aleppo siege.
Following complaints and call-ins to the National Liberal Club for their hosting of the pro-Assad European Centre for the Study of Extremism for a conference on 5-6 April, the Club issued an apology and said that it regretted hosting such a conference.

A group of British Syrian organisations issued a joint statement on 8 Apri in response to the US air strike against the Assad regime's Shayrat air base near Homs. This air strike was conducted in response to the Assad regime's 4 April chemical attack against the city of Khan Sheikoun.
