Syrian Male Refugees, Masculinities and Home-making [Online]

On Monday, 10 June 2024, we hosted an insightful episode of our online series: Refugees, the Lived Experience. Dr. Rik Huizinga presented his research on the homemaking experiences of young Syrian male refugees in the Netherlands, exploring how migration impacts their sense of masculinity and belonging.

Migrant Help's Partners Conference

On Tuesday 30 April 2024 we attended a conference organised by Migrant Help in Birmingham. It was a day packed with learning and collaboration, thanks to their generous funding. Highlights included sessions on community engagement, resilience building, and practical workshops on homelessness, employability, and safeguarding.

On Wednesday 28 February 2024, our Research and Advocacy Officer Dr Moaz El Sayed represented us at The University of Manchester’s HCRI 'Careers Expo'. The event offered university students insights into organisations, volunteering, jobs, and training opportunities in the third sector.

International Mother Language Day Celebration

On Wednesday 21 February 2024, we actively participated in the celebration of International Mother Language Day at Longsight Library & Learning Centre in Manchester. Visitors had the chance to enjoy Arabian Coffee and sample delicious Syrian sweets. The event was delightful, with a great turnout.
