Dr. Ahmad Khaled, a British-Syrian doctor, gave an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live on his experience in responding to the horrific Manchester attack this week. Dr. Khaled noted that it was his duty as a human, as a British Syrian, and as a medical doctor to do what he could to alleviate pain and suffering.
We issued a press release on 24 May alongside the British Syrian Medical Society outlining the Syrian response to the horrific attack in Manchester this week. We furthermore highlighted that Syrian doctors were among the first-line responders to the attack.
We attended a vigil in Manchester Albert Square on 24 May organised by Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham in remembrance of the victims of this week's horrific attack in our beloved city. The central message that came out of this vigil was the need to remain united and to condemn hate in all of its forms.
