Advocacy

In furtherance of its charitable objectives, RR strives to raise awareness on issues related to refugees and immigrants within the British landscape through work on policy and media. Because of our daily work with Syrian refugees, we serve as a critical source of information on the Syrian conflict for journalists and through our professional relationships with these journalists we work on the framework by which refugee crises, particularly in Syria, are discussed. RR also organises seminars and hosts academic conferences that draw in leading academics and community organisers for discussion and insight on often overlooked aspects of the Syrian conflict and other conflicts in the region.

Supporting Refugee Advocacy Training

Our Development coordinator Mr. Amaf Yousef participated in training on Supporting Refugee Advocacy on 9th June, organised by the Lloyds Bank Foundation and Unbound Philanthropy. The training included techniques and factors to be considered by civil society organisations that are advocating for certain changes within the refugee support systems.

Panel Discussion at Oxford Uni: Risk and Challenges in Migration Contexts

Our Development Coordinator participated in a panel on Risks and Challenges in Migration contexts: What will the new governance model need to address? And How? What will it look like? This was as part of the 6th Annual Seminar on Advancing Good Governance in International Development, held at Rhodes House, Oxford University on the 8th of June.
