Syria NGO Group Roundtable with DFID

On the 21st of February, Rethink Rebuild Society attended a roundtable discussion held by The UK Department for International Development (DFID) with NGOs working on the humanitarian response to Syria. This was the second meeting of its kind with DFID, with the first held back in November 2017.

The Syrian regime is executing a horrific military campaign in Eastern Ghouta in which tens and in some cases more than a hundred civilians are being killed daily. We need urgent action NOW to stop these attacks on civilians. The Syrian British Medical Society has prepared a draft letter to be sent to MPs.

"The White Helmets" Film Screening and Q&A with the Director

The White Helmets

Rethink Rebuild Society and Amnesty International Manchester Group organised on Saturday 17 February 2018 a free screening of the Oscar winning documentary "The White Helmets".
The screening was followed by a Q&A with the director Orlando von Einsiedel and Khaled Khatib, the Cinematographer who filmed most of the scenes, both on Skype.

Statement: Immediate International Action to Stop the Escalation of Violence in Syria is Demanded

Rethink Rebuild Society released a statement pleading Britain and the international community to put an end to the escalation in violence witnessed across Syria over the past weeks. At a supposed stage of de-escalation, civilians in Idlid, Eastern Ghouta, and Afrin remain highly vulnerable to attacks from conflict parties.
