Rethink Rebuild Society hosted a screening of the film "The Intouchables" on sunday 22nd of January. The screening was followed by a short open discussion on ideas and emotions that the film provoked about our perception of relationships, difference, what we have in common, and what makes us humans.
Rethink Rebuild Society (RR) invited the members of the Syrian community for a familial gathering on Sunday the 24th of December to celebrate the holiday season. The event was an opportunity for networking among settled and newly settling Syrians, and for RR to maintain its close connection and relationship with the community in Manchester and the wider UK.
Rethink Rebuild Society contacted Ambassador Matthew Rycroft, the UK Permanent Representative to the UN, on the 22nd of December 2017 to express our appreciation and encouragement for his displayed solidarity with Karim, the 3-month-year-old baby that partially lost his eye due to Syrian regime shelling of Eastern Ghouta that also killed his mother.
Rethink Rebuild Society contacted the European Commission on the 21st of December 2017 to express our disappointment with Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides's failure to clearly identify and condemn the Syrian regime as the besieger of and main party responsible for the suffering of trapped civilians in Eastern Ghouta.
