"Silenced Voices" Exhibition in Leeds University

The exhibition ‘Silenced Voices: Syrian Women in Assad’s prison’, organised by Rethink Rebuild Society, was showcased at Leeds University Union on Wednesday 14th February 2018 to raise awareness of the real-life stories of women who have been imprisoned in Syria since 2011. During the exhibition, Bayan Shorbaji and Asmaa Alsakka, two Syrian women refugee in the UK who have relatives detained by the Syrian regime since 2011.
The exhibition attracted a large number of students and helped highlight the plight of Syrian women in captivity in Assad’s prisons and the plight of Syrian refugees who still have many relatives disappeared in Assad's prisons.
