The Syrian community of Manchester in association with Amnesty International called for a silent demonstration to express solidarity with the people of Eastern Ghouta in Syria. The demonstration took place in Piccadilly Gardens on Saturday 24 Feb 2018 at 01:00 pm.
A large number of protesters turned up and they carried placards and posters demanding protecting civilians and ending to the five-year-long siege of Eastern Ghouta.
The demonstration had considerable impact on passers-by many of whom expressed sympathy with the plight of the Syrian people.
