Power Up Event: Pushing back against the ‘Hostile Environment'

Rethink Rebuild Society participated in the "Power Up: Pushing back against the ‘Hostile Environment" event in Manchester on the 19th of March. The event held lectures and workshops on resisting detention, deportation and immigration enforcement, securing employment support, and resisting the hostile environment in healthcare. It was an opportunity to network with other migrant communities and share our experiences in order to deflect hostilities and improve our integration processes.

The event was co-organised by Migrants Organise, African Rainbow Family, Manchester Migrant Solidarity, Women’s Voices, WAST Manchester, Right to Remain, Greater Manchester Pakistani Association, United for Change, Liverpool Asylum Seekers and Refugees Association (LARA), Asylum Matters, Manchester Medact, with support from many other organisations including Manchester City of Sanctuary and Migrants Supporting Migrants.
