We had our annual Qiyam night on 11 July for Syria at KD Grammar School. It was a night of reflection and prayer for our beloved country of Syria, we thank everyone who attended.
The first Ramadan group iftar for Syrians who have no family here in the UK was held in RR office on Saturday 20th June. Over 45 men broke their fasts together over a very delicious meal. A very warm thank you to our donors, volunteers, and attendees for making the iftar successful.
We will continue these iftars every Saturday during Ramadan inshallah.
RR organised a trip to Llandudno on 25 May for the Syrian community of Manchester.
We left Manchester with 2 buses with about 100 people and enjoyed a day of tourism and sightseeing! We stopped first at Conwy then continued to Llandudno.
Overall, it marked a day of fun for all members of the family!
RR hosted its indoor family fun day on 12 April 2015. We were delighted to host Syrians from all over Britain, including London, Scotland, Middlsbrough, Newcastle, Liverpool, Hull, and Sheffield. Thank you to all who attended and made this event the success that it was. Thank you also to our volunteers who helped us in providing fun for the whole family!
RR, in collaboration with Jasmine of Peace, hosted a women-only event on 7 March in celebration of International Women's Day 2015. The audience learned about the struggles, hopes, aspirations, and experiences of the Syrian woman and enjoyed entertainment put together by a group of young Syrian girls as well as a dabke group.
