RR attended a seminar on 11 June 2015 which sought to raise awareness regarding the new legal measures to counter ‘’non-violent extremism’’ announced in the Queen’s Speech. Various aspects of these measures were explained by leading lawyers, policy and community advisers. The meeting took place at the British Muslim Heritage Centre and was hosted by CSF.
As Britons return home without question despite having fought in Syria, RR questions why Syrians on routine trips are being stopped at the airports for security checks.

RR director Dr. Haytham Alhamwi appeared on 'That’s TV Manchester' on Monday 1 June talking about his personal experience in Assad’s prisons. He explained why the Syrian people chose to revolt against the dictatorial regime and spoke about Rethink Rebuild Society and its role in helping the Syrian community in Manchester.
RR ran a workshop for Syrian refugees/new Syrians to Britain on Wednesday 27th May 2015 about British Culture and English Language.
RR organised a trip to Llandudno on 25 May for the Syrian community of Manchester.
We left Manchester with 2 buses with about 100 people and enjoyed a day of tourism and sightseeing! We stopped first at Conwy then continued to Llandudno.
Overall, it marked a day of fun for all members of the family!
Many members of the Manchester Syrian community attended Syria Relief's annual dinner on Saturday 23 May, this year titled '4 Years On'.
The event was highly successful in highlighting Syria Relief's accomplishments in the past year and in presenting its vision for the next year.
Five members of the Syrian community of Bristol visited RR office on Saturday 23 May and met members of the Syrian community of Manchester
The meeting between the two communities was highly beneficial in sharing experiences and exploring methods of collaboration to increase Syria's profile within the UK.
RR's Director Dr. Haytham Alhamwi was represented on the BBC World Service Programme on Palmyra on 21 May.
Dr. Alhamwi highlighted the brutality of the Assad regime and discussed the barrel bombing that occurs whenever an area is liberated from regime control.
