BBC Radio Manchester Interview on Calais

BBC Radio Manchester Interview on Calais

RR was interviewed by BBC Radio Manchester on 3 August regarding the situation in Calais. We emphasised that the asylum seekers in Calais must be treated as victims and not criminals, and reminded listeners of the brutality that Syrians are facing within their home countries which necessitates them to flee to Europe. We maintained that countries such as Britain have a responsibility to address the root causes of conflicts so that people are protected within their home countries and do not have to flee.
