We had our annual Qiyam night on 11 July for Syria at KD Grammar School. It was a night of reflection and prayer for our beloved country of Syria, we thank everyone who attended.
Please sign this petition requesting the Turkish Consulate General to make the Turkish visa process easier for Syrians holding UK travel documents. Current wait times are extremely long preventing many Syrians in the UK from visiting their families in Turkey.
RR attended on Monday 6th July a memorial service in the Manchester Cathedral for the Srebrenica genocide of 1995. The service was a collaborative effort between Remembering Srebrenica charity, faith-based organisations, and Greater Manchester Police.

MP of Gorton Sir Gerald Kaufman ('Father of the House') visited RR office on Friday 26 June. We discussed with him issues pertaining to the UK's policy on Syria and presented him with some of our core policy demands as the Syrian community. The discussion was highly informative and we learned the following from MP Kaufman:
The first Ramadan group iftar for Syrians who have no family here in the UK was held in RR office on Saturday 20th June. Over 45 men broke their fasts together over a very delicious meal. A very warm thank you to our donors, volunteers, and attendees for making the iftar successful.
We will continue these iftars every Saturday during Ramadan inshallah.

The #withSyria campaign has issued a joint press release on behalf of 81 organisations worldwide, of which RR is one of them.We are calling upon the United Nations Security Council to increase the accountability of the Syrian regime especially with regards to brutal and indiscriminate attacks. Mrs Lara Hilal, a Learning & Development Consultant, delivered a workshop in the RR office on 14 June on how to start up a business.
