In furtherance of its charitable objectives, RR strives to raise awareness on issues related to refugees and immigrants within the British landscape through work on policy and media. Because of our daily work with Syrian refugees, we serve as a critical source of information on the Syrian conflict for journalists and through our professional relationships with these journalists we work on the framework by which refugee crises, particularly in Syria, are discussed. RR also organises seminars and hosts academic conferences that draw in leading academics and community organisers for discussion and insight on often overlooked aspects of the Syrian conflict and other conflicts in the region.

Prime Minister must ‘reassert Britain’s tradition of welcoming refugees’ in wake of President Trump refugee ban - charities & INGOs

We signed a joint statement on 31 January issued on behalf of twenty-five organisations calling on the Prime Minister to 'reassert Britain’s tradition of welcoming refugees'. This statement comes in the wake of US President Trump's announcement to halt intake of refugees and to indefinitely suspend the Syrian resettlement programme.

BBC Radio Manchester Interview on Trump's Muslim Ban

Dr. Mustafa Alachkar, member of Rethink Rebuild Society, gave an interview with BBC Radio Manchester on 30 January to discuss the effects of US President Trump's Muslim ban on the British Syrian community. Dr. Alachkar highlighted the divisive nature of the ban and furthermore expressed regret at the UK Government's inadequate response to this discriminatory policy.
