The University of Manchester collaborated with Rethink Rebuild Society (RR) to conduct research entitled “A Humanitarian Perspective on UK Refugee Discourse and the Nationality and Borders Bill”.
The 5th annual Celebrating Syria Festival has been enormously successful. Several media outlets spoke about the role of arts and culture in resistance and in preserving cultural identity through the festival.
On Wednesday 16 March 2022, we were honoured to welcome Mr Jonathan Hargreaves the UK Special Representative for Syria to our centre in Manchester to discuss issues of refugees, the future of humanitarian aid and the UK continuous support for Syrian aspirations of freedom, justice and peace.
On Friday 3 Dec 2021, our manager, Dr Haytham Alhamwi was invited by the Politics Society at Yarm School to talk about Syria and the plight of refugees. During the talk, Dr Alhamwi addressed the work that RR does to help Syrians and other refugees to integrate into all aspects of British life.

During the talk, Dr Alhamwi highlighted the work that RR does to help Syrians and other refugees to rebuild their lives and integrate with their surroundings.
