Talk at Yarm School: Syria and the Plight of Refugees

On Friday 3 Dec 2021, our manager, Dr Haytham Alhamwi was invited by the Politics Society at Yarm School to talk about Syria and the plight of refugees. During the talk, Dr Alhamwi addressed the work that RR does to help Syrians and other refugees to integrate into all aspects of British life. He further took the audience through the modern history of Syria and contextualised the ongoing conflict in Syria. He also talked about the resilience of Syrian refugees in Manchester and that of the Syrian diaspora in the UK and elsewhere to rebuild their lives and communities in the UK and abroad.
