Let's End Hate Crime!

Rethink Rebuild Society hosted a seminar on hate crime in our multi-facility room on Sunday 13 October. The talks were given in Arabic by Rethink Rebuild. The speakers stressed the importance of recognising and reporting hate crime. After the talks, the floor was open for Q&A and the attendees added their input on their experiences.

Helping Refugees Past and Present

On Friday 11 October 2019. our wonderful colleagues Miss Dana Sharkas and Dr Moaz El Sayed were invited to participate in a panel discussion called "Helping Refugees Past and Present"at St Peters House in Manchester. The event was organised as part of Journeys Festival 2019 and highlighted why people engage in refugee work, and what challenges they encounter.

Rethink Rebuild at the Fun Palaces event in Longsight Library

On Saturday 5 October, Rethink Rebuild Society participated in the activity organised in Longsight Library by Fun Palaces. Our table displayed samples of Syrian heritage and culture, offering visitors a cup of delicious Syrian coffee. Several visitors stopped by the beautifully-laid table to chat to us about Syria and our coffee-drinking habits.

Camping to Eskdale

On Friday 19 July 2019, RR successfully organised a three-day camping Trip to Eskdale, North England. The trip was a wonderful opportunity to bring together Syrians from all across the UK! A very warm thank you to all who supported the trip by attending, volunteering, or publicising. This event could not have been the success that it was without you!

Presentation on the Work of RR

On Thursday 18 July our manager Dr Haytham Alhamwi delivered a presentation on the work of Rethink Rebuild Society at Manchester Gorton Labour Party. In his presentation, Dr Alhamwi talked about the work that RR does to improve the lives of Syrian refugees and help them become positively established within the British society.
