We had an exhibition tour, film screening and panel discussion at the Storey Lancaster on Friday 18 October 2019. The exhibition featured once again the creative artwork of the Syrian’s Artist Amani Al-Ali: “the Green Apple”, and reflected the feelings and experiences of Syrians about their journey and lives after 2011.
Following was the screening of “Memories from Syria”, which chronicles excerpts from the lives of 50 Syrian refugees residing in the UK and highlights some of the experiences that they underwent either throughout the conflict in Syria, through their journeys to Europe and through rebuilding their lives in the UK.
The event ended with a post-screening discussion with two Syrian guests who had the opportunity to connect with the audience and to share their account on their experience as refugees in the UK.
