Roundtable with Participants from Syrian Diaspora Leaders Programme

On Wednesday 19 June 2019 we hosted a roundtable with participants from Syrian diaspora leaders programme in the UK. The event was part of Common Purpose’s programme which aims to build the capacity of Syrian leaders in the diaspora to contribute to Syria and the diaspora community.

Film Screening: Nae Pasaran

On Sunday 28 April 2019, we hosted the screening of Nae Pasaran (2018), which reveals the tremendous impact made by Scottish factory workers 40 years ago against Pinochet’s Air Force in Chile. The workers refused to repair the warplanes engine in an act of solidarity against the violent military coup in Chile.

RR attends the APPG launch of the inquiry into a working definition of Islamophobia

Rethink Rebuild Society attended The APPG on British Muslims roadshow launch of the inquiry into a working definition of Islamophobia on Sunday, 14 April 2019. The event was hosted by Afzal Khan MP, the vice-chair of the APPG. In his talk, Afzal Khan urged local authorities to adopt the APPG definition as part of their effort to counter Islamophobia in all its forms.

Manchester Community Sponsorship Event

RR attended the event on the Community Sponsorship Programme organised by Mercy Mission, in collaboration with the Muslim Council of Britain, on Sunday 24 February 2019 in Manchester. Members and leaders of several Islamic organisations and mosques attended the event and they had chance to network with other Islamic organisations.

International Mother Language Day Celebrations

We participated in celebrating International Mother Language Day on Thursday 21 February 2019 at Longsight ‎Library & Learning Centre in Manchester. Visitors had the opportunity to get involved in exciting events including Arabic ‎calligraphy, hands-on and crafts activities and family-friendly-games.
