On 12 October we participated in Journeys Live Festival Day that took place in the Cathedral Garden in Manchester City Centre. Brought by Journey Festival International in Manchester, Journeys Live was a day of free, live entertainment celebrating talented artists from around the world. Featuring a truly global line-up of live music, spoken word, performance, dance and food from emerging or established artists and community groups.
With Syrian traditional costumes and oriental decoration, our visitors enjoyed the sense of the Syrian traditions, sipped some Arabic coffee while chatting with us about RR activities and upcoming events. Visitors also had the chance to take some photos wearing Syrian traditional costumes.
It was great to meet our partner organisations who share same objectives of supporting refugees and enjoy performances of talented refugees performing different forms of art. The setup of the location brought the sense of family gathering, visitors enjoyed a delicious meal by community kitchen, met NGOs members and learned about activities and recent developments in the sector.
We thank our Partner Journeys Festival for organising this lovely event inviting us. We enjoyed speaking with the visitors who showed solidarity with the Syrian people and were interested to learn more about our previous work and very special upcoming event.
