We attended a 'Listening Session with Syria Refugees' with Mike Kane MP. We organised a team of 10-15 people to meet with Mr. Kane, who is expecting up to fifty Syrian families to be resettled to his constituency.
We had a lovely day on Sunday 23rd Oct at Crowcroft park, where people flew the kites they had made at the previous kite making workshops. We also had an additional kite making workshop on the day for everyone to make more kites and fly them. The weather was great for kite flying, and many families came to enjoy the day, fly kites and have food.
We attended a meeting of Warrington's Rotary Club on 19 September and delivered a presentation on Syria alongside Nora Carlin of Care-UK, a charity which is involved in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria. We focused on the issue of civilian protection and stressed the need to find a solution to the root cause of the problem.
