For International Women's Day we held on Sunday 12 March a film screening of Syria's Rebellious Women, a documentary by award winning journalist, Zaina Erhaim.

On Thursday 9 March, Dr Haytham Alhamwi from RR and Dr Ayman Jundi from Syria Relief charity gave a lecture on the crisis in Syria for a module in the Humanitarianism and Conflict Response Institute which was shared with a module in the Global Development Institute.
We hosted a 'Hiraeth' event for SICK! Festival at our office on 8 March which hosted three artistic performances exploring themes of home, family history and loss.
***HIRAETH*** A Welsh word defined as homesickness tinged with sadness for the lost or departed.

We gave a talk to some of the congregation at St Monica's Roman Catholic Church in Warrington, along with local charity Refugee Aid NW. The talk covered how the conflict started, what is happening in Syria and how people can help. Many people commented to us afterwards how useful the talk was in clarifying to them what is really happening in Syria.
We gave a talk about Syria at Bridgewater High School in Warrington, to 300 students in year 9, along with Refugee Aid NW. We spoke about how the war started, what is happening in Syria and how people can help. The talk was very well received with the students responding by offering to help through donations and volunteering.
