Rethink Rebuild Society, Foundation for Science, Technology, Civilisation UK (FSTC UK), and AMAL have partnered up to deliver the “Rethinking and Rebuilding Social Cohesion: Engaging Young Syrian Refugees Project”.
We had a wonderful time at the Eid party for the Syrian community on Monday 26th June at Oasis Academy MediaCityUK.
There were many activities for the children including bouncy castle and Eid gifts. It was great to see so many families coming together, socialising and enjoying Eid sweets. Eid Mubarak to all!
Three community iftars have been organised for Syrian refugees during this blessed month of Ramadan. Every iftar has been attended by about 80 people who had iftar and then made Taraweh prayer together. Many thanks to our donors, volunteers, and attendees for making these iftars successful.
Our Development Coordinator participated in a round table discussion on Refugee self-reliance in cities, held by the University of Manchester on the 20th of June.
We hosted an iftar dinner party on Saturday 17th June, as part of the The Great Get Together celebrating the legacy of Jo Cox. Many representatives from different communities attended - it was great to see such a diverse group come together to show we have more in common.
