The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Friends of Syria and Crisis Action held a panel event on 27 November 2017 under the title of 'Last Men in Aleppo: What Role Can the UK Play in Syria?' that served to warn of the dangers of repeating the same mistakes that international inaction and lack of accountability have impacted in the disaster of Aleppo in 2016.
On Sunday, 26 November, our multi-facility room was host for a screening of the documentary 7 Days in Syria. The documentary tells the story of a western journalist inside war-torn Syria where she meets unknown heroes helping their fellow Syrians get through their daily suffering.
Rethink Rebuild Society (RR) delivered a seminar in the Cheadle Muslim Association' centre on Saturday 25 November titled "Syria: The Suffering Continues". RR's Director Dr. Haytham Alhamwi briefed the audience on the current situation in Syria while RR education coordinator gave a brief on the education projects inside Syria.
RR attended the Palestine Traditional Day event in Manchester on Saturday 18 November organised by the Palestinian Forum in the UK to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the atrocious Balfour Declaration. The day was filled with activities including a film screening, a Dabkah by the Palestinian band AL-Forsan, an art gallery, and a traditional food bazaar.
