We hosted a movie screening on 29 October in which we showed The Young Fathers (2006), الآباء الصغار. The Syrian film talks about three children who help their father to continue his bachelor’s degree in law after their mother passes away. They meet an Egyptian archaeologist who helps them.
On Tuesday 18th we had a film screening of Tadmor followed by a Q&A with the directors Monika Borgmann & Lokman Slimvia. This was the first time the film was screened in the UK, Tadmor is the winner of Best Political Film Award (2016) Filmfest Hamburg.
We hosted a free film screening on Sunday 7th May of Channel 4's documentary 'Syria's Disappeared: The Case Against Assad', in association with Manchester Amnesty International.
For International Women's Day we held on Sunday 12 March a film screening of Syria's Rebellious Women, a documentary by award winning journalist, Zaina Erhaim.
We held a film screening of Inside Out at our community centre on 26th February 2017.
