We attended a training course on managing volunteers organised by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation on 15 March. The training course went through the role of volunteer management and discussed some of the ways that organisations can motivate their volunteers.
A group of youth volunteers met in the RR office on 15 January to create and pursue volunteer initiatives. One group is working on creating art projects for young refugees, and another is working on getting Syrian refugees involved in community service initiatives. We look forward to seeing these ideas develop!
We held a volunteer workshop for new volunteers aged 18-25 using the V-inspired model. Volunteers worked in groups to create project proposals that they can execute through Rethink Rebuild Society, which they will further develop over the coming three weeks and submit an application for to receive a grant of up to £500.
