We were at the 'Stories of Conflict, Migration and Place' event on Wednesday 4th May hosted by Community Arts North West and Platforma. We attended a very useful workshop on how to write scripts to make effective videos. We also saw a series of short videos in the morning that people had caught on their mobiles, showing different stories from the Syrian conflict.
On 8 December, a briefing written by Rethink Rebuild Society was used in Parliament to help advise MP’s on the use of torture in Syria, at the hands of both the Assad regime and other military groups. The briefing highlights the extensive range of gruesome, barbaric methods of torture inflicted on innocent Syrian civilians.
Rethink Rebuild Society hosted a conference on 17 October 2014 at the British Muslim Heritage Centre titled 'Syrian Conflict in Regional Crises: Complications, Implications, and the Way Forward'. There were over 120 attendees, inclusive of policy makers, academics, activists, students, and members of the wider community.
