‘A Syrian love story’ film screening

Rethink Rebuild Society showed the film ‘A Syrian love story’ on Sunday 28 February 2016 followed by a discussion about the film and about the Syrian cause in general and of refugees more specifically.
The film was produced by Sean McAllister over a period of five years. The film was about two love stories. The first was the story of Amer and Raghda, who are torn apart twice by the Assad regime; once by imprisonment and the other by exile. The second story was their love for Syria, which casts a long shadow over their lives, their marriage and their children.
Raghda Hasan, one of the main characters in the story, kindly took part in the discussion following the screening (via Skype) and contributed her own perspective on the Syrian cause.
