Rethink Rebuild Society was featured on iTV4 on 1 October discussing Russia's recent intervention in Syria. Responding to the comments of a Russian MP, we noted that we were disappointed in her classification of Assad as legitimate when he was in fact committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against his civilian population. We also stressed that the Syrian people are the most negatively affected by ISIS and therefore want, more than any other power, to see its defeat. However, we noted that this is not going to happen unless we deal with the root cause of the Syrian conflict, namely the Assad regime.
