On Sunday 10th July, we had our 6th annual fun day in Manchester at Levenshulme High School. This was a hugely successful event that bought together over 1600 Syrians from across the UK to connect with their local communities and to celebrate Eid El-Fitr.

Following intense Assad and Russian airstrikes on the city of Aleppo, we issued a press release to highlight the dire conditions being faced by the city. The press release included statements by two residents of Aleppo, one of whom had his home and work of place hit by Russian airstrikes.
We had a successful breaking the fast meal at the end of our Ramadan fastathon challenge, in which people from all backgrounds and communities took part in a one day fast to raise awareness of the sieges in Syria, and how starvation is being used as a weapon of war by the Syrian regime.

Rethink Rebuild Society issued two press releases in the run-up to the Fast-a-thon which will take place on 1 July. During the Fast-a-thon, people will do a sponsored fast to raise awareness on besieged areas in Syria. Participants will be invited for a free dinner of breaking the fast.
