On Wednesday, 23rd October, Rethink Rebuild Society had the pleasure of hosting a screening of "Prayers for the Stolen." The film is set in a remote mountainous village in rural Mexico, where three young girls—Ana, Maria, and Paula—experience their childhood amidst the turmoil of a drug war.
On Sunday 20th October, we hosted a vibrant event for language lovers at our centre, creating an atmosphere filled with learning and fun. The invitation was open to everyone, fostering inclusivity among participants eager to practice Arabic, enhance their English skills, or simply explore diverse cultures.
On Wednesday 16th October, a special gathering took place at our centre, bringing together Arab women from various backgrounds to foster connections, share experiences, and learn about sexual health and family planning. This event, designed to empower women through knowledge, served as both a platform for socialisation and an essential space for education and support.
On Sunday, 6th October 2024, Rethink Rebuild Society (The Syrian Community Centre of Manchester) held the annual celebration for Syrian graduates who achieved their Bachelors and Masters degrees this year.
On Sunday, 8th September, we were privileged to host Baroness Natalie Bennett, the former leader of the Green Party and one of the UK’s most respected politicians and thinkers, for a talk on her new book, Change Everything: How We Rethink, Repair and Rebuild Society.
We organised a football match for our community on Thursday, 22nd August, at Armitage Sports Centre from 6-8 pm. It was a fantastic evening with a great turnout and a lovely atmosphere. The event was all about bringing our community together and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
We had a fantastic time at our "Keep Our Neighbourhood Clean" litter picking event this past Sunday. It was heartening to see so many members of the community children and adults come together with a shared purpose—to take care of our city and ensure it remains a pleasant place for everyone.
On Sunday, 18th August, we had a fantastic time on our Mersey Walk, with a lovely turnout and weather. It was great to see everyone enjoying the beautiful 3-mile route along the River Mersey in South Manchester. Thanks to all who joined us, and a special mention to those who brought their families along.
It was a lovely evening at our centre on Wednesday 14th August. Our gathering brought together Arabic and English speakers who shared their passion for languages. With a good turnout and a warm atmosphere, we enjoyed practising, comparing, and learning from one another. The tea, coffee, and biscuits were appreciated, and everyone left with a smile.
On Sunday 14 July 2024, we invited our community to join us for the Euro final between Spain and England, and the atmosphere was electric! Nearly 100 people gathered to enjoy the thrilling game and have a great time together.
