RR attended the election hustings for Central Manchester

RR attended the election hustings for Caentral Manchester at Friends Meeting House on Friday 24/04/2015. The event was attended by a Labour party representative, John Reid (Liberal Democrat), Xingang Wang (Conservative), Kieran Turner-Dave (Green), Myles Power (UKIP), Loz Kaye (Pirate Party), UK Alex Davidson (TUSC) and Paul Davies (Communist League).

A solidarity vigil in memory of those who died in the Mediterranean Sea

RR participated in a vigil and solidarity gathering organised by City of Sanctuary Manchester on 24 April. This vigil was in memory of the children, women and men who died in the Mediterranean Sea while trying to reach safety in Europe.
The vigil ended with a moment of silence for those horrific deaths.

Syrians with UFF Forms for Affixing the Visa should now be able to leave Turkey for the UK

After we became aware that Syrians with valid entry visas to the UK were being denied exit from Turkey, we contacted the Turkish embassy in London and the British embassy in Ankara and the issue seems to have been resolved. Syrians with UFF forms (forms for affixing the visa) should now be able to leave Turkey to the UK.

RR Hosts Successful Indoor Family Fun Day in Manchester

RR hosted its indoor family fun day on 12 April 2015. We were delighted to host Syrians from all over Britain, including London, Scotland, Middlsbrough, Newcastle, Liverpool, Hull, and Sheffield. Thank you to all who attended and made this event the success that it was. Thank you also to our volunteers who helped us in providing fun for the whole family!

RR Participates in MAB Vigil for Sheikh Abdul Hadi Arwani

RR participated in a candle light vigil hosted by the Muslim Association of Britain in Picadilly Gardens in memory of Sheikh Abdul Hadi Arwani who was murdered in London on 7 April 2015. We sent our condolences to family and friends and called for a speedy investigation as well as the delivery of justice.

Islam in Britain Conference

RR attended Islam in Britain Conference on 3 April which explored key issues within the Muslim community, the importance of the General Elections and the future of Muslims in Britain.
This conference was organised by MEND and the key speakers were: Sheikh Yasir Qadhi, Abu Eesa Niamatullah, Sheikh Zahir Mahmood and Sufyan Ismail.
