RR's May monthly seminar was on the topic of peacebuilding and was delivered by International Alert's Barry Navarro. Barry discussed elements of peacebuilding and touched on the role of diaspora communities in achieving peace in conflict-torn countries, all in the context of the Syrian conflict.
RR was a key organiser of the Syrian Platform for Peace launch in London on 18 February. This Platform, overseen by International Alert, will work towards peace-building in Syria. We were represented in the panel discussion in which we spoke of the Syrian diaspora's role in contributing to peace in Syria.
RR took part on 4 December in a workshop run by International Alert aimed at creating a platform that incorporates all Syrian organisations operating in the UK.
The platform will be formally launched on Wednesday 18 February.
