Following our approval for a 'Building a Stronger Britain Together' grant, our Research & Policy Coordinator Dr. Yasmine Nahlawi attended a roundtable discussion on 20 September with Home Office Minister Baroness Williams to discuss issues regarding rising extremism in our communities.
A group of nine UK-based Syrian advocacy and community organisations released a policy document in September 2017 aimed at informing UK policy makers about the current situation in Syria and at outlining practical measures that the UK can undertake in order to promote and ensure civilian protection and justice.
We attended a meeting in London on 19 September organised by Common Purpose to bring together leaders from the Syrian diaspora in the UK and to hear from the experiences of Zrinka Bralo, Chief Executive of Migrants Organise and Bosnian refugee.
Our Research and Policy Coordinator Dr. Yasmine Nahlawi met with two Treasury Committee specialists on 19 September to discuss banking issues experienced by Syrian individuals and organisations within the UK.
Our Development Coordinator, Amaf Yousef, participated - as part of the Network for Refugee Voices delegation - in several meetings on the margins of the 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly in September.
