RR was interviewed by BBC Radio Manchester on 3 August regarding the situation in Calais. We emphasised that the asylum seekers in Calais must be treated as victims and not criminals, and reminded listeners of the brutality that Syrians are facing within their home countries which necessitates them to flee to Europe.
BBC World Service hosted our Advocacy & Policy Coordinator and one of our members, Mr Mohammad Ali Ayyar, to speak about the Syrian community's involvement in the upcoming elections.
RR issued a press release and a joint statement on behalf of Syrian groups and organisations in the UK regarding Assad's interview on BBC. The press release was picked up by BBC Radio Manchester, who invited us to a live interview.
RR appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live on 10 December. In discussing the issue of foreign fighters, we reminded listeners that the Syrian conflict cannot be resolved until the root of the problem, namely the Assad regime, is addressed.
