We were in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester on Saturday 23rd July 2016 to protest the International Coalition's bombings in Manbij which has led to the deaths of over 100 civilians, including children.
We were joined by people across the community, and heard from Syrians who have families in Manbij and have not heard from them for months due to communication being cut off.
The siege by mainly Kurdish forces, combined by the bombing of the International Coalition has left the people of Manbij on the point of desperation, with no access to medical aid or food.
This is not acceptable and will only lead to the destruction of an entire city of over 100,000 civilians. Civilian protection has to be established by all parties if we hope to implement any real solutions to help Syria.
This protest was featured on Orient News, including interviews with several members of RR and the wider Syrian community.
