We spoke in one of the fringe meetings in the Lib-Dem York conference on 12 March 2016 on the subject of Syrian refugees. We talked about a number of misconceptions that are commonly held regarding Syrian refugees, for example why they come to the UK and how they integrate within the communities. We also reminded the audience that media agendas are highly pre-determined and therefore cautioned them to carefully evaluate news coverage that they see on any issue.
