Book Launch: The Blood Between Us - Syria After the Fall of Assad

Rethink Rebuild Society, in collaboration with the Syrian British Consortium, successfully hosted on Wednesday 30 September an engaging discussion with British Syrian writer and journalist Robin Yassin-Kassab about his latest book, The Blood Between Us: Syria After the Fall of Assad. The event brought together participants interested in Syria’s political transition following the end of the Baathist dictatorship and Assad family rule. Drawing on the book’s combination of political analysis, reportage and personal accounts, Robin explored the complex realities facing Syria at this historic turning point, offering valuable insights into the country’s recent past and the challenges that lie ahead.

The discussion was highly informative and prompted thoughtful reflection on some of the most pressing questions facing Syria today, including justice, reconciliation, accountability and the country’s future direction. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with this unprecedented transition and to engage with Robin’s analysis and experience of the Syrian Revolution since 2011. We are grateful to Robin Yassin-Kassab for contributing to a successful and thought-provoking event, and to everyone who attended and helped make the discussion a valuable opportunity for learning and exchange.
