On Sunday 8th June, Rethink Rebuild Society in partnership with Celebrating Syria: A Festival of Arts and Culture hosted a vibrant and successful afternoon of Syrian culture at Aviva Studios to mark Eid Al-Adha. The free event brought together people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy an unforgettable celebration of music, dance, food, and creativity.
Highlights of the day included captivating live music performances, a mesmerising Mevlevi dance display, and a lively Arada performance that brought energy and tradition to the stage. Across multiple spaces in Aviva Studios, visitors took part in hands-on workshops and family-friendly activities, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Syria and the Levant.
No celebration would be complete without food, and guests enjoyed a variety of delicious Syrian dishes—especially the freshly made shawarma, which proved to be a crowd favourite.
The afternoon was made possible with the support of the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund and Factory International, and was praised by attendees as a joyful, welcoming, and unifying celebration for the whole community.
