RR was featured in Mancunian Matters calling upon the media and general public to refocus their attention on Syria to the real source of the problem, namely the brutality of the Assad regime. We emphasised that the conflict in Syria, and the resulting humanitarian crisis, emerged from the regime's brutal crackdown against peaceful protesters demanding their freedom and dignity. While ISIS is undoubtedly a huge problem facing Syrians, we need to distinguish that the root cause of the conflict remains Assad and that sustainable peace will not return to Syria so long as he is in power.
