Inspired by the happy atmosphere surrounding the World Cup, we invited our Syrian community members to play a 5-aside football at Sugden Sports Centre. Despite the cold weather, the game was played, and it was fun, enjoyable and competitive. 15people played the game and were from different age categories. People were happy to play and felt that we should organise this game more often. This game aimed at helping people to socialise, improve the physical and mental health and encouraging them to practise sport on a regular basis. This aligns with the overall objectives of this fund.
