On Thursday 16/09/2021, Rethink Rebuild Society (RR) hosted an online course about coding. The course was entitled "Coding 4 Children" and was delivered by "Kids&Codes" organisation. The event was advertised on our website and on our social media. The registration took place via Google Forms. The number of people who registered this is greater than last year (15 students). The event was free for all participants. Participants were from a refugee or migrant background and aged between 08 and 12 years old.

The course was organised online via Zoom to enable the presenter to share screen, communicate with students and more importantly to help students do some exercises. Prior to the event, the presenter shared the course slides in order to enable students prepare for the course in advance. The course focused on the following: introduction to programming / practice coding with different tools, introducing coding concepts using Scratch, coding simple project using Scratch, introducing how software and hardware work together using micro: bit circuit board & C2O2 robot, coding simple project using micro: bit circuit board (simulation), introducing apps design for android devices, coding simple app using MIT App Inventor environment. The participants did simple exercises.

The course lasted for 2 hours each, starting at 7pm and ending at 9pm. The course was a success, and we were glad to attract a larger number of participants this year.
