On Friday 06/03/2020, Rethink Rebuild Society (RR) participated in the post-screening discussion of the moving documentary “We Are Not Princesses”. The film follows a grouping of Syrian women living as refugees in Beirut, who come together to tell their stories of loss, love, hope and pain through the ancient Greek myth Antigone. With stunning animation and excellent images, this film highlighted the resilience and strength of those women who move forward in spite of and in reaction to the unresolved conflict raging at home. The event, which marks International Women's Day, is a collaboration with the Muslim Festival of Art and Culture (MACFEST) and Journeys Festival International. It took place at Stretford's community cinema and witnessed great turnout.
