On Sunday 06 October, Rethink rebuild Society hosted a digital workshop organised by the Maps for Syria initiative (MFS).
Recent developments in Syria saw the government enacting new laws on property and estates, which endangered people’s rights to their own homes.
Maps for Syria has developed a ‘mapathon’ or a digital workshop where refugee participants use digital maps to identify and mark their houses to which they have no physical access due to the political and military situation.
The event was attended by a fair number of participants although we hoped that more people would take the opportunity to oppose the illegal repossession of their homes in Syria.
