Rethink Rebuild Society showed film of ‘The President’ on Sunday 22 November 2015 followed by a discussion about the film and how it links to the current political affairs.
We held a 'Voices from Syria' presentation at the University of Liverpool on Monday 23 November 2015. We presented to a very engaging audience and clarified the Syrian conflict through personal narratives.

In light of the Paris attacks, we issued a briefing to MP’s to remind them that Assad is the root cause of the Syrian conflict and that his actions should not be overshadowed by those of ISIS. We also urged MP’s to adopt a comprehensive approach to Syrian policy, with civilian protection at its heart.
Jeff Smith MP published a blog post on 19 November on the Parliamentary event at which he hosted us to launch our policy document. Jeff stressed in his post that it is important for policy makers to listen to Syrian voices when formulating any policy on Syria. We hope to continue working with Jeff to bring our voices to Parliament and to influence UK policy on Syria.
As of Monday 17 November, the RR Office will be open to community members from Monday to Friday from 6 to 11 pm. Available facilities include table tennis, billiards, hot drinks, chess, cards, and television.
A number of Syrian groups across the country issued a joint statement in The Guardian on 15 November condemning the recent Paris attacks yet reminding of the ever-increasing threat that the Assad regime's actions have upon the rest of the world.

UK aid worker in Greece pleads for burial of bodies of Syrian refugees
On Friday 13 November we met with Councilor Roy Perry of Hampshire County Council and the team that Hampshire Council has formed to house and support Syrian refugees. They are preparing to welcome their first Syrian family in Winchester within the next few weeks.Amazing efforts are being done by Hampshire to ensure the efficiency and success of this scheme.
English courses run by community volunteers have now started at our office. These courses, offered free of charge, will run at various times throughout the week. Refugees can come in for an initial assessment after which they will be placed in a course at their appropriate level.
We appeared for an interview with a news outlet in South Africa on 9 November speaking about the conflict in Syria. We had a lot of time to provide an overview of the situation and describe what we want as the British Syrian community.
