We signed on to a joint letter addressed to Jan Egeland, Special Advisor to the UN Special Envoy on Syria, regarding humanitarian access in Syria. We stressed that member States must do more to ensure humanitarian access as was agreed, even by Russia, over a year ago. We also called for credible monitoring and enforcement of the recent de-escalation agreement.
Our Development Coordinator participated in a round table discussion on Refugee self-reliance in cities, held by the University of Manchester on the 20th of June.
We hosted an iftar dinner party on Saturday 17th June, as part of the The Great Get Together celebrating the legacy of Jo Cox. Many representatives from different communities attended - it was great to see such a diverse group come together to show we have more in common.
Rethink Rebuild Society organised a successful fundraising Iftar on Friday 16th of June to support Iqraa school in the western suburbs of Aleppo Province, Syria. This school is funded by Manchester Community and implemented in collaboration with Syria Relief (UK registered Charity).

Our Development coordinator Mr. Amaf Yousef participated in training on Supporting Refugee Advocacy on 9th June, organised by the Lloyds Bank Foundation and Unbound Philanthropy. The training included techniques and factors to be considered by civil society organisations that are advocating for certain changes within the refugee support systems.
Our Development Coordinator participated in a panel on Risks and Challenges in Migration contexts: What will the new governance model need to address? And How? What will it look like? This was as part of the 6th Annual Seminar on Advancing Good Governance in International Development, held at Rhodes House, Oxford University on the 8th of June.
RR Advocacy Director, Dr Haytham Alhamwi, was interviewed today Wednesday 7th June by Aljazeera Arabic channel, to talk about the views of the Syrian and Muslim community on the UK general election and issues concerning them.

Spring Reign, a theatre production on the Syrian conflict directed and produced by our good friend Ben Power, completed another UK tour in May and June 2017. This play was very positively received by a diverse audience and gave a powerful narration of Syrians' experiences through art.
On 3 June, Syrians in Manchester Gorton, Manchester Withington, and Stretford and Urmston participated in a ‘Day of Action’ to get involved with their local election candidates. They visited their local candidates in their offices, asked them to sign up to the pledges in the Syria Manifesto, and volunteered with their candidates’ campaigns.
