In Place of War has its first film festival this June/July. It is a festival celebrating art and creativity in places of conflict, being shown in unconventional settings in communities across Manchester. They have four screenings, with free food, music and talks from Directors - WOMEN, DR CONGO, HIP-HOP and KURDISTAN.
The women's screening will be taking place in Longsight at Rethink Rebuild Society (Syrian Community of Manchester) on July 10th from 12.30pm to 5pm. There will be short films and the headline film is 'Trials of Spring' about women's resistance in Egypt and their vital roles during the Arab Spring. It will be a truly special women-only afternoon of film, food, music and discussion and we will explore and celebrate the different ways in which women have raised their voices together in times of crisis.
Please note that it is a women-only event.
