The Wound of As-Suwayda and the Wound of the Nation
Join us for an open discussion session about the situation in Syria following the events in As-Suwayda, and how to heal the national wound and mend the rift caused by these events.
Friday, 29th August, at 7 PM
At the Syrian Community Center in Manchester
The discussion will focus on Syria’s future after the events in As-Suwayda, and on the role of Syrians, including ourselves, in helping our country overcome this crisis in a way that establishes a shared and dignified life for all segments of the Syrian people.
The invitation is open to all, but participants must adhere to the ethical and constructive codes of dialogue and avoid sectarian rhetoric or attacking any specific group. The moderator reserves the right to exclude anyone who does not adhere to the principles of respectful dialogue.
The aim of this session is to listen to different opinions, not to convince or reach an agreement. Let’s prioritize attentive and sincere listening to each other.

سنركّز في النقاش على مستقبل سوريا بعد أحداث السويداء، وعلى دور السوريين، ونحن منهم، في مساعدة بلدنا على تجاوز هذه الأزمة بطريقة تؤسس لعيش كريم مشترك بين أطياف الشعب السوري..
الدعوة مفتوحة للجميع ولكن بشرط الالتزام بآداب الحوار الأخلاقي والبنّاء والابتعاد عن التحشيد الطائفي أو الإساءة إلى مجموعة بعينها، ويحتفظ مدير الحوار بحق استبعاد من لا يلتزم بأخلاقيات الحوار.
هدف الجلسة هو الاستماع إلى الآراء المختلفة، وليس الإقناع أو الوصول إلى اتفاق. فلنجعل أولويتنا الإصغاء باهتمام وصدق لبعضنا البعض.
